BUDDY - #215608 Apple Valley Shelter, Apple Valley, So Cal Please help us find a good home, foster and or rescue for dear Buddy, a sweet boy whose owner dumped at the Apple Valley Shelter, one of the highest kill shelters in the state saying he was unable to keep the pet on his property. Poor Buddy lived outside there, and had no exposure to other animals or children so it did not sound like he had the best life before. Not surprisingly, at the shelter, he is a bit scared and unsure. However, we just sent someone to meet him who said he allowed petting, neck scratches and was even gentle enough to allow staff to open his mouth (to see a full black tongue). He also leash up nicely with zero aggression, and had no reaction to the dogs barking around him. Due to his urgency, we are looking for a kind person to adopt or foster so he is not euthanized. Buddy weighs 52 lbs and was said to be 5 years old, and looks like a little cub. He is listed as a chow/lab mix but also looks a bit jindo like.
