About Dani

Bengal
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Dani is a beautiful 3-year-old Bengal cat with Bengal Rescue, a 501c3. She is healthy but TINY - she weighs only 6 lbs. Dani LOVES running on her cat wheel and chasing/hunting cat toys, with string/feathers. She also loves working for treats and enjoys being present wherever her humans are (she watches people cook or wash dishes and loves being part of the gathering). Dani likes to have her chin, neck, and belly petted. She can be a cuddler, but there are times she does nip and scratch at people when she is trying to set a boundary with them. Dani currently lives with another cat who is very shy and fearful. Prior to that she lived with three dogs - a Pomeranian and two Pit Bulls. No question, this was a lot of pets in one small place and soon, Dani began to urinate outside her litter box. She was fully vetted for UTI/ crystals/stones and tested negative. We believe that she may suffer from Feline Lower Urinary Tract disorder (read about that here https://bengalrescue.org/resources/litter-box-issues/). This condition is completely resolvable issue! She is due to go back to the vet soon to make sure there are no other medical issues causing this problem. %A0 We think that if Dani goes to a home with no other pets, she could reign as Queen and her litter box avoidance issues will be corrected. Dani is a wonderful cat and needs someone patient and committed to helping her with this issue. %A0 Dani does like to chew on things like wood furniture, clothes, and cardboard boxes, and carry around some things like rubber bands and small plastic items. The owner has contacted a couple of behavioralists and tried their suggestions of sprays and feline plug-ins to help this behavior. %A0 Dani loves running around outdoors supervised on a harness, this has not been a consistent thing but doesn't seem to mind putting on the harness. She has been exposed to walking on a leash, but owner wouldn't say she is 'completely' trained (she's open to it though). She doesn't like walking in the rain. Dani is currently being fed pate` wet food in the mornings and eats a dry food all through the day. She is eating First Mate Duck with blueberries dry food and Nulo pate`. Dani is spayed, up to date on vaccines and is microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, and fully vetted for Urinary Tract Infection/stones/crystals (negative). We believe if we can find her a quiet home who is experienced with resolving litter box issues, she will be a loving and wonderful companion.
