About Luna

Luna is 2.5 years old, house-trained, kennel trained, she is non aggressive when it comes to her food or toys and is currently working on agility courses. She does well with a gentle leader or a harness. She has taken obedience and behavioral classes since we have had her. She does well with other dogs and adults, however it is unknown how she reacts to children. She plays well with other dogs and enjoys going places and activities. She loves to play go get it and other games with her humans and is obedient when told play time is over. She loves her nightly massages prior to going to bed and loves to sleep in her kennel in our bedroom. Her history is unknown prior to our adoption in December since she came from Louisiana. Luna does have fear of vets and it was recommended she be muzzled for her visits. We have worked with her to desensitize her to things that she was never exposed to. If Luna is scared of something and feels pressured she will react by yelping and will try to retreat. We've worked with reassuring her she is ok and we work through whatever the fears are. Our next step was taking Luna to the vet to get her acclimated to the environment so that her next visit would be pleasant rather than a fear full. She didn't have a problem with the vet, it was when the tech grabbed her and the vet placed the stethoscope on her did she react. The reason we are looking of adopting our girl out is we travel a lot and have to come realize we can't take her with us for the majority of the places we go for great lengths. It was also recommended she be a second dog so that she has a playmate to grow with. We unfortunately, can't take in another dog with our current lifestyle. We would like the new adoptee/s have a fenced in yard, preferably a second dog (male), no kids, moderate physical activity and be willing to send us periodic updates because we love our girl and it isn't fair to her to be boarded all time time for weeks on in while we are away. We will not just place her with anyone, we would love for the adoptee/s to have references, prove to us she will go to a loving home and are willing to continue with her training.
