About Summer

Adoption Fee: $100
Border Collie mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Hello and Thank you for taking time to read this. I have had my dog Summer for about 7 years and love her to death. I would do anything for her and want her to find a good new home to enjoy the rest of her life. We think she is a border collie terrier mix and we adopted her when she was around 1. Summer is up to date on all vaccines and shots. I have took her to Westwood Hospital for Animals in Brownsburg for all her checkups is currently up to date on all shots and vaccines. We also have all heartworm and flea/tick pills for the entire year. I would also provide plenty of dog food, supplies like beds, bowls, toys, bones, treats, etc. She is super sweet, loyal, house trained, loves to go for walks or runs, knows commands like stop, sit, stay, down, come, shake, go to bed, etc. She loves being outside and to play fetch but also does a great job just hanging out inside cuddling on the couch watching tv. She also loves to go for car rides and will do anything she can to cheer you up on bad days. She walks well on a leash and is an all around well behaved dog. We crate trained her for the first year or so but now she roams freely when we are not home and now mostly just sleeps on the couch or in her bed when we are gone. Summer has been around dogs that she does get along with and others that she did not get along with. I think it just depends on how big the dog is and how dominant the dog is. When we adopted her we were told that she needs a home without cats and she has never been around one. My wife and I just had a baby recently and are expecting another baby here soon. We both work full time and Unfortunately can't give her the attention she needs and deserves. The baby has stressed her out and now that he is crawling we have to keep them in separate rooms. She has shown signs of resource guarding her bed and toys at times with other dogs and the baby. She is scared of loud noises and does not like when the baby gets in her face to poke, pull, slap, etc. and would do better in a home with older children or no children at all. This breaks our hearts because we consider her family and love her so much but needs to find a home that would be a better fit for everyone. Thank you again, text or call anytime
