About VIOLA

Meet Viola! Viola is a 7 year old, 8.6 Pomeranian who is happily experiencing what it's like to be a pet for the first time in her life! She is one of the happiest little girls that her foster mom has had the privilege to care for. During the day she will nap under her foster moms desk with her foster siblings. She loves being with or near her person at all times. When she is initially left alone, she will whine and scratch at the door for a minute or two and then settle down. She has decided that the big bed is the best place on earth and will gladly sleep at your feet all night long. Viola gets along well with all the dogs she comes in contact with. She has just started trying to play with her foster siblings and soft toys and is enjoying exploring new things in the yard. She is still a bit skittish with new people but if you have a treat in your hand, she's yours. She would be fine in a home with older children as long as the adopters understand her background and the children are 'animal friendly'. Cats are unknown at this time. She is just starting her leash training so her future adopter should be willing to continue to be patient and work with her. A fenced yard is recommended due to her ability to run, and run fast. She is almost fully potty trained and has had only a few accidents that were no fault of her own. She rides well in the car and likes to go run errands with her person. Viola only has a few teeth right now and will probably lose most if not all at her upcoming dental due to their condition. Likely because of that she is a bit thin right now. Her foster parents are feeding her good, healthy food and of course snacks...very soft snacks which she adores! Her tongue usually hangs out but she doesn't seem to mind too much and it only adds to her cuteness! She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is heartworm positive and has started treatments which consists of a round of doxycycline and the heartworm shot. She will be retested again in 12 months and, if she is still heartworm positive, will undergo another round of treatment. Both the treatment and the testing are covered by the rescue until she is heartworm negative. Her spay and a much-needed dental will be scheduled soon at one of our vets and are covered by the rescue as well. Viola is a very good and sweet girl who deserves the best life. Our dogs stay in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
