About Toby

This is Toby, 55 lb, 1 yr old black lab mix. He is up to date on vaccines and in good health despite looking a little thin (he eats almost 4 cups a day and we've had bloodwork done to ensure his health!) Toby was kenneled so often in his first home that he suffered a collar line skin infection from lack of resizing as he grew. He was also let out of a kennel so infrequently as a puppy that he has become comfortable peeing in a crate. I am a dog trainer to whom the dog was surrendered, but cannot work through potty training since I have dog reactive dogs of my own and am not set up to allow him access to house in order to practice. Toby is high energy and great with other dogs and people. I would hesitate to place him in a home with small children as he is large, energetic, and not always physically aware of himself. We have worked on basic leash skills and impulse control, plus he's good at running on a treadmill. He'd be an awesome dog for sports or someone who wanted a dog to run with. I don't know how much longer I can keep him, so I'm hoping I can find someone soon!
