About Elgin

What a handsome boy recent arrival 'Elgin' is! This boy boy was pulled to be euthanized at the San Antonio shelter just because he had a minor case of mange - which is easily treatable! It was a team effort in saving this boy and now he is in tip top shape and in a Michigan foster home ready to start his forever home search. Elgin is estimated at 3-4 years old and is 55lbs. He is believed to be a German Shepherd/Carolina Dog mix (or perhaps Basenji). He is a well mannered boy for the most part and pretty easy going. Elgin is dog friendly (been around both larger and smaller dogs) but a kitty free home would be best. Elgin is crate trained (although protests a bit with some short lived whining), and has had no accidents in his foster home. Elgin is pretty good on leash (will pull if a critter is in site), a good traveler and an overall good boy. His ideal home would have a physically fenced in yard, kids 5 and up, and someone to give him lots of snuggles affection, which he seems to love.
