About CHIPIS

Chipis is a medium sized Beagle mix, we think, with a very cute a pronounced under-bite. She's a young 6-7 year old and weighs around 18-20 lbs. It took Chipis a little while to acclimate to her new surroundings, but now that she is settled in, she acts like she been in her foster home forever. Chipis loves attention but is not overly demanding of it. She will come up and stand next to you or put her feet on your leg if she wants to have you pet her. While nervous about new surroundings, Chipis does not seem to have an issue meeting new dogs. She accepts the sniffing and nosing from dogs of all sizes without getting upset. Chipis is working on her house training and knows how to use the doggie door. She is crate trained and eats in her crate every night. She will also run into her crate at other times, if there is a treat involved. She walks well on a leash and greets other dogs appropriately when on walks. Chipis has not been tested with cats or young children. We believe with proper introductions she will learn to accept both. Chipis is generally a quiet dog and will bark when only other dogs are barking or if there is something she wants to alert you to. She will not initiate barking or howling but will join in when others do. In addition to spay Chipis also got a dental cleaning while in rescue.
