About Koda

Meet Koda ��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BDZ He is a handsome husky mix a little over a year old. My husband and I have been fostering Koda for my sister in law that was hospitalized in January and had to have surgery for a bulged disc in her neck that left her unable to move her arms and legs. We took Koda in with hopes of being able to return him to my sister in law once she recovered. Unfortunately, she has been making a slow recovery and has come to realize that she will be unable to provide the care for him that he needs. My husband and I do not have the appropriate home for him in a small townhouse and hardly any yard. We also do not have the lifestyle that lends to this breeds needs and so we have decided we need to re-home him in order for him to have his best life and get him paired with the right family/person. A good match for Koda would be someone with a good amount of experience or knowledge of the husky breed or experience with similar breeds that can be challenging. He is highly intelligent, high energy and can be very stubborn ... BUT would be a great dog and lots of fun for the right person. He needs a strong pack leader as an owner, room to run (preferably big fenced yard) and I think it would be beneficial if he had another dog to bond with. He would be great for someone who wants a running partner or is interested in doing agility with him (I see great potential for that) He is a working class dog so he wants to be busy and can get bored and restless or mischievous without a job to do or at least enough daily exercise so that he does not run zoomies all day in your house. We have been doing a lot of training with him and he has come a long way but he still needs more because he didn't have much until we got him. He is very food motivated. I know it's a tall order on here but we are hoping to go this route rather than put him in a shelter. He deserves to live his best life !!
