About Owen

Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Soulful Owen : At just 2 years old and 70 pounds Owen is very active. He likes to go for multiple walks a day and would love an adopter who likes to jog! He likes to stretch his legs in a fenced yard & adores running around with dog friends. There has never been a dog Owen hasn't liked, has even charmed some dogs who like to play 'hard to get' and would do best in a home with a canine friend. Owen is very smart and loves to train. He knows lots of tricks like 'Sit', 'Down','Stay', 'Place', 'Touch', 'Shake', 'Beep beep ' (to back up), and his newest trick--trimming his own nails! He is also fully house trained, crate trained & loves spending time in his crate to rest. Owen would love to continue positive based training at his forever home and his adoption comes with training support from one of our approved trainers. Owen is the kind of dog that will give back to you, all that you give him. Owen had a sad beginning that started with a life on a chain in rural Mississippi and was saved from Euthanasia, He is understandably wary of new people..Owen loves his foster mom but his foster dad is still a little intimidating to Owen. Due to this, he would be best in a quiet home without kids or lots of people coming & going. He does experience 'stranger danger' and has shown some Resource guarding so he will need an adopter skilled in working with these behaviors. Owen is a dog who needs a special person & simply some time to trust that new people are kind. He will be your favorite adventure buddy, most loyal companion, and absolute best friend.
