KODO - ID#A1985488, Has been here for almost a year! Please adopt this sweet boy!! https://www.facebook.com/reel/653399862440156?fs=e&s=cl Yowzers! KODO (#A1985488) was relinquished by his ex-owner to the East Valley Animal Shelter, Van Nuys, CA, in June 2021, because KODO was too possessive of the person. The ex admitted to having started KODO in training, but then gave up on him. In November, KODO was adopted and returned after a couple of days for the same reason as previously claimed. Those of us who interact with KODO in the shelter haven't experienced such negative behavior. He has shown us that he is intelligent, affectionate, treat-motivated, and a great ball-player. The following are notes logged by staff and volunteers regarding interactions with KODO: (Wed, Dec 15, 2021 10:39 PM) Per Volunteer Today's interaction was like previous ones. Kodo was playful and engaging, and easy to return to the kennel. (Sun, Dec 12, 2021 12:36 PM) Per Volunteer Kodo was jumpy and excited in his kennel as usual, but was easy to lead to the yard. Very smart, knows commands and will sit for treats. Very house trained and he will always unload a full tank once in the yard. Likes fetch but will resource guard the ball, so you have to trade treats for the ball. Affectionate, likes to be snuggle. He is a friendly and social dog MAILBOX (Sun, Oct 24, 2021 9:08 PM) ENGAGEMENT TRAINING Per Volunteer Date of Interaction: 10/24/2021 Animals: KODO (#A1985488) I took Kodo out towards the end of the day. Nothing new as all previous notes apply. He was excited to go out and was easy to leash in his kennel. He was all about the tennis ball today and enjoyed playing fetch. When it was time to go back he walked easy on the leash and trotted right into his kennel. MAILBOX (Fri, Oct 22, 2021 8:22 PM) ENGAGEMENT TRAINING Per Volunteer Animals: KODO (#A1985488) I'm not sure why there aren't more notes for Kodo, because I know he gets out of his kennel fairly regularly. Maybe because his demeanor and playfulness remains the same each time he's out. Today, I took him to the play yard and after removing the leash, he immediately went for a tennis ball. I gave him a bath, as well. He was a bit fearful when I hosed him down, but when I shampooed him, he appeared to relax, and I was able to rinse him off and dry him without any issue. He went back into his kennel calmly. MAILBOX (Thu, Sep 2, 2021 7:32 AM) ENGAGEMENT TRAINING Per Volunteer Animals: KODO (#A1985488) Kodo was excited to get out I looped him easily and he walked slowly to the yard in the yard he was very playful and friendly.
