REFERENCES NEED TO BE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS ENOUGH ABOUT YOU TO GIVE A CHARACTER REFERENCE AND KNOW HOW YOU WOULD TREAT AN ANIMAL. WE REQUIRE A PHONE INTERVIEW AND VIRTUAL HOME VISIT IF YOU ARE NOT IN OUR AREA. EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT THESE RESCUES IS LISTED HERE. IF YOU EMAIL US ASKING IF WE GOT YOUR APPLICATION, HAS IT BEEN PROCESSED, IF THE DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE OR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DOG IN GENERAL WE WILL NOT REPLY. WE GIVE YOU ALL DETAILS HERE. AFTER 14 DAYS AND YOU HAVE NOT HEARD FROM US, YOUR APPLICATION WAS NOT CHOSEN. IT DOES NOT MEAN YOU WERE NOT APPROVED, WE HOLD THEM FOR 1 YR. IT SIMPLY MEANS WE HAVE ONE DOG AND FOUND THE BEST SUITED HOME FOR THAT RESCUE. PLEASE ALLOW US 14 DAYS FROM THE DAY YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION FOR IT TO BE COMPLETED. THE MOST COMMON HOLD UP ON APPLICATIONS IS YOUR REFERENCES HAVE NO IDEA YOU'VE GIVEN THEIR NAME AND CONTACT INFO. THEY DO NOT REPLY, OR YOU HAVE GIVEN US THE INCORRECT EMAIL FOR US TO CONTACT THEM. YOU MUST BE RESPONSIBLE TO FIRST ASK YOUR REFERENCE IF YOU MAY USE THEIR NAME, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE BOTH EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER FOR US. AND CHECK THE EMAIL TO ASSURE IT'S CORRECT. LOCATION: DURHAM, NC ADOPTION FEE: $400 JASPER is a male neutered Australian Labradoodle. He is about 4 yrs old. UTD on all vaccines/rabies, microchipped and ready for his new home. He is heart worm negative and on monthly prevention. Jasper is approximately 40 lbs. He gets along with dogs, but no cats. This guy has never been exposed to kids, so NO kids for him. He is house and crate trained. He walks very well on leash and rides like a dream when you go anywhere. He was taken to the groomer and had a spa day every two weeks since a puppy. He LOVES his ball and will let you throw it 1000 a day if you will. Jasper was an owner surrender from an older couple who apparently didn't allow him to be a dog. He went to doggy daycare, yet wasn't allowed to play with other dogs as he may get hurt. We aren't sure why but he seems to really not like you bothering his ears or feet. His foster Mom has been working hard for about a month now on this. She has gained his trust in being able to have him sit with her on the sofa or in the recliner where she gently touched his ears and then feet and can now touch without much reaction. She has taught him to shake and if he allows you to touch the feet to shake and hold a few seconds he gets his ball. He is BALL DRIVEN for sure, so that's an excellent tool to you to your advantage in further training. Jasper must have a FIRM alpha but with a kind loving hand. He responds well to a low voice rather than loud and rowdy. He has always lived in a quite home setting. He wasn't allowed on furniture but has since learned being in a foster home, that the sofa is a pretty comfy place to lounge. He is learning so many new things. He will go outside to potty in a fenced yard, but much prefers you take a nice walk with the leash.
