About Buckey

Buckey is a 1 year old neutered Boston Terrier ready for his new home. Buckey is a sweet but busy busy boy. When he's awake he really never stops moving. He can however cuddle up next to your leg at night and rest. Buckey loves to play with other dogs and doesn't mind if they are much bigger than him. He came into rescue from a very bad situation. He had hair loss and skin issues, parasites and fleas as well as being significantly underweight. He had resorted to eating trash and towels trying to survive. Sadly this caused an enormous problem to his stomach and intestines. Thankfully his veterinarian suggested Vitamin B12 injections and this has made a huge improvement. She has recommended he continue a weekly injection for another month. Buckey also is on prescription intestinal diet food. We are hopeful after he completes his injections he can be weaned to regular food. He currently also takes a probiotic daily. Buckey has worked hard on crate training and house training but will still need a home who can be patient with him as he learns what's expected. Some who is home more than not would be helpful. Buckey will need a watchful eye as he loves to chew on things especially pillows and bed linens and towels. He needs a lot of patient redirection to appropriate chewing toys. Buckey gets really excited and jumps a lot seeking attention. Because of this we feel he should not be placed in a home with a senior or young children. He will need a fenced yard as he loves to run and play and he's still working on learning the ropes of leash walking.
