About Douglas

Meet Douglas Douglas (M) is a handsome young puppy. He and his siblings (Tempest and Angel (F), Noah, Robin, and Blue (M), will be ready for their forever home on May 7, 2022. These beauties are thought to be Blue Lacy/Chi mixes (rescue me does not have a blue lacy option so we posted weimaraner - sorry for any confusion). They all have gorgeous blue coats, vibrant eyes and an alert appearance. They are snuggly and cuddly. Blue Lacys are a compact working dog. They are energetic and highly intelligent. They love to be busy and make for wonderful companions. They will do best with an active person or family. These pups will do well with other dogs to play with and will thrive as an integral part of their family. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
