Required to rehome as soon as possible - fence jumper who goes into neighbors yard to protect our chickens from their dogs which resulted in a dogs escalating. Backstory - when we rescued him he was living fulltime in a horse trailer and leashed at all times as a pup till about 9 months old. He was skittish and unapproachable (passive, but would run) and showed signs that he was physically abused. We have socialized him and gotten him over most of his fear issues - (no leashes with metal at all, still triggers him). When he is triggered, it is passive/runs - not aggressive. He needs a safe space to stay as he builds trust and becomes familiar. He currently has a kennel with run that he sleeps in next to his chickens, is out all day, but it stays open in case he gets scared and he kennels himself at night. Does very well inside the house but is not totally housetrained (mostly just marks his territory when the other boy dogs are in too). He is calm and very sweet as a house dog. He is VERY chicken friendly - not so much with cats, no incidents but he will chase them and we have not introduced him to other farm animals. We have too large of a pack to keep him with ours, we just wanted to help him get out of his previous situation and get him to a point where someone could successfully add them to their lives. He is a runner (comes back 100% of the time) but will need worked on a leash, he understands it but is not good at it. He also jumps fence (up to 4 ft) and keeps getting in the road. We have tried the invisible fence system and it triggers his fears. He gets along with our pack, but they are all boys and he just isn't getting the grasp of boundaries with them. They are starting to escalate in intensity and severity. He isn't the aggressor - he just has zero concept of pack order and they keep trying to establish it. They all get along 99% of the time, but when they don't - they really don't. He would be good with another dog, but he has work to do on figuring out how to be a member of a pack for more than a single companion, and would need some intense work if he goes to family with a larger group of dogs. We have had him around multiple adults, teenagers and he has been timid but fine, we do not have small children and do not know how he would handle them.
