This is Chappie, our 7 year old oriental shorthair. This has been one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make, as we've had him since he was a kitten. Our lives have changed drastically over the years, and while we have ridden the waves and held onto Chappie through the hardest of tines, life has reached a point where we can tell he is unhappy. We had to put down his two best friends, and do not have the means to take on another cat. Chappie absolutely thrives in a home with multiple cats, where they are really the center of attention. He is EXTREMELY social and loving, and when he's lonely, becomes very vocal. Chappie also has stomatitis. In 2018, he had several of his teeth removed. We believed he had a major flare up due to an allergic reaction to the food he was eating. We have since found a food that doesn't cause issues, and have been able to manage it without further surgery. We would need to know that whoever takes him on will be willing to keep an eye on this. He was just checked out last year and the vet said aside from slight redness, his mouth looked great with no pain. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We will be very selective as he is part of our family.
