About Meeko

Meeko is a 5/6 month old lab/pit mix being fostered and up for adoption through Where The Love Is Animal Rescue in Hamden. Meeko appears to look younger than his age, and this is most likely due to a history of being malnurished. Meeko displays some food aggression towards other animals, separation anxiety, and resource guarding due to his traumatic past. For this reasons, the foster recommends he would be best with a home that understands trauma presentations in dogs if he is to live with other animals, or to live as the solo pup to work on building secure attachments. Despite his rough past, Meeko is a very smart pup! He learned potty training and how to sit in 1 day! He is also excelling at leash walking. He can even go on a light jog next to his human with a loose leash. His favorite activity is to cuddle and be close to his human companion. He would be great for someone that wants a puppy, but with less of the work of teaching the basics. Please direct all inquiries into this pup at the rescue directly.
