About PLUTO - $150 Adoption

Adoption Fee: 150
Border Collie / Pit Bull
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

PLUTO was saved from a shelter in the south. PLUTO is neutered, rabies, age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm & tick disease tested negative, dewormed and on monthly preventatives. He weighs around 55 pounds and has an estimated date of birth of 21 January 2021 . We have no way of knowing for sure what breed he is and so it is up to potential adopters to look at his pictures, video's many more can be found on the rescue website, and decide for themselves. PLUTO was lucky to be chosen by a wonderful family who signed up for the 'Let's go for a Walk' Doggy Day Out Program. Pictures and videos have been uploaded and this is the feedback we received from Roxanne and her amazing family who opened up their lives and homes to give PLUTO a much needed break from the kennels. We took part in the Give a Dog a Home, Let's go for a Walk, Doggy Day Out Program and chose Pluto to join our family for the weekend (5th-7th August), 3 days and 2 nights. He is the most adorable dog!! Everything he did with us was a first for him so it makes everything I am going to tell you even more amazing!! He rides great in the car. He tried to get in front and we told him once no and he stayed in the back from that point on. He walks quite well on a leash with no training so imagine when he gets some training!! He is cautious but brave and with encouragement will try anything. He loved hiking and he even swam in a lake and jumped off a rock!! He was excellent with our dog didn't mind being put in his place but I also think he would be fine as an only dog because he loves his toys and entertains himself very well!! He is hilarious with his toys!! He takes corrections very well I only had to tell him once no and that was it. He is smart and not stubborn at all. If you are considering adopting this boy you will not be disappointed he is the sweetest boy!! Please someone give him the life he deserves! ! PLUTO is a fun, loving, happy boy, he is full of energy and bursting with love to share. He gets on great with other dogs, loves everyone he meets and would love a family to go on adventures with and then snuggle up at the end of the day. PLUTO is located at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec and is available for adoption for a reduced adoption fee of $150. %BD'%BD%BD Dog Application Form - https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 Dogs have access and use dog doors to go outside, they will not know to let you know they need to go outside, so families must expect accidents and be prepared to teach your new dog to let you know when they need to go outside. The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavours. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! %BD'%BD%BDYou MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the '3 Point Rule' Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE
