About KikiCoco

Adoption Fee: $600
Doberman Pinscher
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

LOCATION: San Antonio, Texas - AGE/DOB: 8 months, 08/01/2021 - KikiCoco (or just Coco as her foster family calls her) loves people and was immediately affectionate towards her foster family. She is very much a happy puppy with a lot of energy! Her foster family can already tell that she will be a wonderful family dog and she would especially thrive with a family that understands/has experience with Dobermans. Not surprisingly given her breed, Coco is very intelligent! She is also food motivated. This smart cookie loves toys and activities that make her think and work, like treat games and puzzles. In just a short time, she has already learned sit and stay. She has been quick to learn potty training and is doing well on leash (her foster family walks her with a harness). She is not a huge fan of her crate but is not terrible in it - she is starting to learn that it is an okay place to be for a little while if she must. She loves to cuddle but, as mentioned, she's got that puppy energy so she does like to zoom and can also be mouthy. Because of this, she might be a bit much for families with very young children, unless they are committed to carefully working through the puppy stage with her. She is doing great with the kids in her foster family who are 7-12 years of age. She had slow introductions to the dogs in her foster home (two Great Danes and a Husky mix - all female) and was nervous and didn't understand how to play at first but is now playing well with all of them! She would likely love a playmate in her future home. She has been non-reactive to the cat in her foster home. When she arrived in her foster home, Coco was underweight and ate like she'd never had a meal before. She is now using a maze bowl, which helps her to slow down, and has gained some weight, but this should be kept in mind when being fed around other dogs as she does have the potential to resource guard her food (feeding separately, at least initially, will be best for Coco). Overall, KikiCoco will be a great addition and should adapt well to any type of family as long as they can devote time to her training, socialization, and keeping her challenged with various activities. ========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 =========================
