About Izzy

We got Izzy from a hoarding situation 6 years ago as a pup. Our orange tabby cat took to her and she loved him like her alpha until he passed away last year. Izzy has always been a velcro dog to my wife. When we got Izzy we learned quickly that she was very anxious and jumpy, getting startled by nearly everything, so we eventually turned to medication. Which has helped tremendously. She is much less anxious now, but still enjoys playing with her toys - she loves tug o war. She is sweet and affectionate to the people in her life. She has not been the same with our other dog, which is the reason we're needing to rehome. We think Izzy would be a lovely fit for a person or couple with no other pets. She has a bark much louder than her medium size, and is an excellent guard dog. She potentially has limited sight in one eye, but very good hearing. She is fully house trained.
