*Phoenix Metro Area Only* Willy is a very special little 4-year-old, 12 pound Norwich Terrier/Chihuahua mix. This sweet little guy always has a very worried look on his face%BD'%BD| He was originally picked up by Arizona Humane Society with injuries, possibly from a dog attack. The injuries were treated and he then came to Pathways. Willy will need a very special home with owner(s) who understand his fears and have the patience to allow him to be who he is for as long as it takes%BD'%BD|He has always been very shy, unsure, and under socialized. We don't know what he went through in his previous life but he will most likely always be shy and will need extra patience and time to bond to a new owner/family on his own time. Willy should have another friendly playful dog in the home to help with his social skills. He is likely to be a 'runner', flight risk for a few months until he bonds with his new family, and feels comfortable with the schedule and routine. He will require a secure fenced yard to keep him safe. Once he feels safe, he is very affectionate. He would do best in calm home and be slowly introduced to anyone new coming into the house. He has never attempted to bite due to fear but a slow approach is best and he can be enticed with treats. Willy would benefit from consistent training and socialization to encourage his confidence. We feel that he would do best in a home without any children because he is so scared and timid%BD'%BD|lots of activity and noise make him nervous. Willy will join his new owner with a collar, harness, and a leash. He is vaccinated, altered and microchipped. Meet and greets will be set up on approved applications only. Adoption fee: $300.
