About Dixie

Courtesy post Baltimore County Animal Services is seeking rescue for Dixie, a Black Mouth Cur mix (she's listed as other because the breed is not an option on our drop down menu). At just a year and a half old and 76 pounds, Dixie is one big sweetheart who is very stressed in the shelter. Dixie hadn't been to the vet other than when she came to us as a puppy to be spayed, but has been brought up to date on vaccines while currently in our care. She was also started on behavioral medication to help ease her transition into the shelter setting; though we would really like to get her to a rescue. Dixie was surrendered to us because her owners were moving. Dixie has positive notes from her owners saying she has previously done well with cats, other dogs, and kids of all ages. While here, Dixie has understandably shown nervous behavior, though once she warms up to you she's your best friend! Dixie warms up more quickly to women than men, but treats always entice her to come around to anyone. If you are interested in pulling Dixie or have any questions, please let me know!
