About Baby Luka

My name is BABY LUKA and I'm a 9 mo M Tricolor Terrier X. I'm 9 lbs of 'NERVOUS NELLY' I was given up by my owner due to 'too many dogs'. I'm a lively boy but am fearful and nervous of new people so you have to go slow with me and let me come to you. I take 2 steps forward but 3 steps back and will manic bark if you move too fast. Of course once I get to know you I'm fine with you but I will need a special person to understand my sensitivities and work with me to give me the support and confidence I need. I'm still just a puppy so I'm a bundle of energy and have lots to learn. My foster mom is teaching me basic commands and says I'm very smart, quick to learn, eager to please & listen well...but I still need daily structured exercise and discipline to make me a well mannered dog. I'm energetic but not overly hyper. I need someone/couple/family that is EXPERIENCED with fearful dogs and will be willing to be PATIENT & TOLERANT to work with me and be INTERACTIVE with my daily activities. I love to run and play with other dogs (I currently play all day with one of my foster brothers and sister) and would LOVE to BE WITH ANOTHER SMALL DOG ( I LOVE MY FOSTER SISTER PRINCESS - another Chi Mix) that I can pal around with and play wrestle with. I'm nervous/scared around bigger dogs and will snap at them if they get in my face too quickly.. but once I get to know them I'm ok. Because of my nervous energy... I need a home with NO SMALL KIDS bc they have unpredictible frenetic energy that make me very nervous. I haven't met any cats yet so not sure if I would chase them or be afraid of them. I would love a home with a fenced in yard... but I'm a city boy at heart and as long as I get the daily activity and play time with other dogs.. I think that would be ok too. I'm a little ruff around the edges right now but luckily I'm still young and can be shaped to be a less fearful, more balanced SCRUFFILICIOUS TERRIER.
