About Meeko

My family is heartbroken that we have to find our Meeko a new home! Please let me know if anyone knows of a great family that is looking for a great dog, just needs the right lifestyle and circumstances. **please only serious inquires** **No adoption fee, we just want him to go to a good home. We will be very selective on who we place him with to make sure it will be a great fit** **up to date on his shots, fixed, and microchipped** ** No known health issues** We rescused Meeko at a shelter about 3 years ago. He was and still is adorable and a great dog, for the right owner. Meeko LOVES his family, he wants to be with us all the time! Loves car rides, playing fetch and loves affection. He loves to cuddle and sleeps with our 9 year old daughter every night in her bed. He follows basic obedience and is house/dogging door trained. Meeko is very much a cattle/herding dog. He has nipped at a few people while walking away or if they have high energy. He has never bit one of our family members. Would be best if he was with a family who does not have little kids and lives on land where he can stretch his legs. When he has nipped, it doesn't seem to be out of anger or come from aggression. In most scenarios he thinks he is protecting his family when this has happened. We love Meeko so much, he is a great dog! He would be great on a farm, doing what his breed was meant to do. He does suffer from separation anxiety, but does not act out by chewing or destroying things. He is very vocal, does bark and loves to talk. Slightly food aggressive with other dogs but we have been working on that and he has improved. He likes to work, and be challenged. Meeko deserves a good life, it breaks my heart to see him go but I know there is the perfect family out there waiting for him to love him for all the reasons we do!
