About Peetie

Peetie finds himself in a shelter in Texas City Tx. He was picked up as a stray with his father who has been adopted. Peetie is an adolescent with a lot of energy, he is at a formative stage of his life and it would be to his advantage to get him into a foster/home to get away from the loud and chaotic environment at the shelter. We are short on volunteers and unfortunately most dogs get out of their kennels only 2-3 times a week for 15-20 minutes. Peetie is very smart and very food driven which makes him very moldable and has afforded me the opportunity to train him for some basics even in the 24 hr a day chaos and barking. He has mastered sit, running a shelter obstacle course (see Youtube video) beginning to recognize we want him to sit before passing through a doorway in spite of the noise which impairs audible instructions. Peetie is good with all adults, unknown with children but due to his energy level and lack of social skills would not recommend he live with unsupervised children. He has seen cats through windows and appears to NOT be cat friendly. We don't have the staff to do playtime so we don't have conclusive eval of how he is with other dogs but have seen him growl at other dogs through gates/fences and have seen him tail wag and try to play with others. Due to his intelligence and food drive he will be easy to train and I think will become a super loving and loyal family member.
