Meet Chloe - Maryville, TN APPLICATION REQUIRED - go to www.greatlakesbengalrescue.com for online application Sweet 6 year old female is ready to love you in her forever home. She is a little bit shy but loves to lay on your lap when she is ready. Her previous owners put her outside living in a barn for at least 4 months. Turned out she had cystitis and was treated with antibiotics and has been eating 1/2 can of urinary RX food per day most days and has not missed the litter box one time. We have both tidy cat clumping and feline pine, she uses both. Her front paws are declawed and she is microchipped, spayed and vaccinated. She's a pretty mellow 6 year old who has not gotten into trouble looking for entertainment in the 2 months we've been fostering her. She is happy lounging on the couch or multiple cat trees or our laps throughout the day. She has not been around dogs and would do better in a home without young kids or babies. Likes: Her oversized scratching post, even though she is declawed she scratches on it and loves sitting on top of it to play with the other cats. Scratching under her chin and on top of her head (with one hand only please two handed action make her nervous you are going to try to pick her up). petting her in long semi firm strokes from head to tail when you are sitting on couch, bed or on floor with her. Core Pate Chicken and turkey. Purina naturals grain free kibble (for overnight snacking). Her wool mouse, and round fluffy toys are her favorite toys. She likes to carry them around and vocalize while while doing so. She likes to play chase occasionally with the other cats. Running through and playing in cat tunnels. Sleeping in bed right next to you, the whole night through... most of the time. Raw chicken treats. Dislikes: You walking up to her in a posture that appears as if you want to pick her up. She will let you pick her up if you are sitting with her or not in a threatening standing position (this girl lived outside fending for herself for sometime). Touching her paws when she isn't in her super sleepy mode. When she first arrived at her foster home, if she became nervous with the other cats interacting with her, she retreated to the top of the kitchen cabinets. Getting into the carrier! (working with her on this by feeding her in the carrier, gradually moving the bowl deeper in to the carrier). Foster's observations: I think she would be happy being an only kitty if she would have human interaction throughout the day as she does love to follow us all around the house and always wants to be in the middle of things, or lay on your lap. Although she is very sweet (although timid) with humans. Her ideal environment may be best with either very mellow cats that are confident enough not to run away from her, or where she was an only kitty. I have noticed that her playful personality comes out a little more after the other two cats go into their catio for the night and she will make the cutest gurgles and chirps as she plays with her favorite toys before coming to bed.
