Hi! I have a 6 year old belgian malinois/lab mix that I adopted at 6 months old with my ex-boyfriend. Chase (my dog) has slowly developed aggression issues with strangers and resource guarding. Because of the recent breakup, I'm on my own to care for him. However, I'm very concerned about his ability to lead a happy life in my care. It absolutely breaks my heart to think about rehoming him or giving him up, but I know he could thrive with an experienced owner. Chase will be attending board and train on April 12, for four weeks. Here he'll work through his behavioral issues, so he'll do extremely well with someone willing to continue this training once he's graduated! With rehoming, I would only allow him to be with another owner if I knew they understood and had experience with aggressive dogs. But I'm weighing all of my options to give Chase the best life possible. I just want him to be able to enjoy the rest of his life, even if that means accepting the fact that I can't give it to him.
