Adoption Fee: $100
Pit Bull / Boxer
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

A bit about our beloved Colonel... Colonel was born in Alabama on April 24, 2020. He is a mixed breed pup that is primarily American Pit Bull Terrier, Boxer, and Labrador Retriever. Colonel is fully vaccinated and currently receives monthly preventative medicine for heartworm, fleas and ticks. Colonel is in peak physical condition with no known health issues or injuries. Colonel is an athlete and loves to play fetch in a large open field where he can show off his abilities as a runner. He is a beginner when it comes to swimming but definitely enjoys it and shows effort to be better and do more. When Colonel is not playing catch or swimming, he loves taking hikes through the woods where he can be let off leash and easily recalled when needed. At home Colonel is a huge fan of snuggling; he does not like being cold so curling up next to you or a fire is commonplace for him. Aside from all of this, Colonel loves eating! He is patient and watches silently as the clock ticks closer to meal time. He enjoys watching wildlife through the window. Colonel is very quiet and rarely barks. He does not mark in the house and actually will do his business on command. He does not chew furniture or rugs and even avoids the Christmas tree! Colonel is a little shy around new people but warms up quickly, especially if that person possesses one of his favorite items: a tennis ball. Colonel excels in an environment where he and his owners are somewhat solo. He enjoys being around other dogs (mainly his older sister Mia the Labradoodle) but Colonel can play rough and some dogs do not like this. Colonel can also become protective of his owners, especially on the leash, which can cause him to firmly stand his ground in the presence of other K9s. As mentioned, Colonel loves to eat, and does so best by himself. Lastly, Colonel is very strong and does not know his own strength. For this reason, a home without young children is necessary. These few points that sometimes make Colonel agitated are easily avoided when his owners are aware of them and actively manage his environment. Colonel responds very well to praise and is very intelligent. He can be easily trained and learns best in a positive environment. Colonel is loved so very much by his current owners. The decision to find him a new home was very difficult and not easily done. Finding Colonel an owner that will love him and take care of him is extremely important to us.
