Big Boy is a medium sized Terrier mix. He weighs about 23 lbs. and is about 8 years old. He is mostly calm and relaxed and loves attention once he gets to know you. Big Boy is a pretty apprehensive of new situations and people but he seems to be okay with meeting new dogs. He is mostly house trained and knows how to use the doggie door. Big Boy eats in his crate and runs to it when he sees his food bowl. He can be crated at other times and will settle in after the initial whining to get out. We're working on walking on a leash and he still has a little ways to go with that. He is untested with cats and young children. We believe with an abundance of patience he will learn to accept both. Big Boy came to us as a result of his owner (male) passing away and the owner's brother no longer being able to care for him due to medical issues. He grew up in his previous home with quite a few other dogs, mostly siblings and led a pretty sheltered life. His past may be behind his preference for his foster dad over his foster mom and his easy acceptance of other dogs. Big Boy has claimed a couch as his spot and can always be found there, day or night. He readily shares it with the other dogs in the house. Big Boy is not overly barky except at meal time when things aren't moving fast enough for him. He will join in when the rest of his pack starts howling, but does not initiate that himself.
