About Tundra

It's not very often that we get upset, but this is one of those times. When humans are deplorable. Tundra was returned to rescue after over a year of adoption because they want to get a cat (knew he wasn't cat compatible at adoption), they haven't taught him his name (that's his fault apparently?), and caring for pets is expensive, yet they already had a dog when adopted and are going to get a cat? Tundra's wellbeing was the last thing on their mind. Not only was he returned, he was brought back emaciated and traumatized after being rehomed by them multiple times and tied outside. Tundra is still the loving dog we remember though and he is scheduled to go to a professional board and train to build his confidence back up. An adopter will be getting a professionally trained and amazingly loyal dog! Not cats ----- Suitable for: home with a securely fenced yard. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: None noted ----- Additional Notes: Tundra! He is such a gorgeous boy! He came to our open surrender event from a pound when his time was up for reclaim. He is SUCH a nice guy. Although we have not cat tested him yet, he does seem to want to chase them when he sees them. He is a friendly guy who loves everyone he meets! His first adopter says he's perfect. It's unfortunate he was so quick to return at a job promotion. Then he got adopted again, and we required his return after 2 weeks when it was reported that there were 17 noise complaints and he was found in filth in a tiny crate. Finally, we thought his luck had turned and third time was a charm. That family had him for over a year and spontaneously reached out to return saying 'nothings wrong'. After prodding, we were told they wanted to get a cat. They knew Tundra wasn't cat compatible when they adopted so basically, they abandoned him to get a cat. Pathetic. They also said a dog is expensive, do they realize cats aren't cheap either. Oh, and he hasn't learned his name...sounds like an owner issue. I can't imagine what Tundra is going through. I cannot believe how irresponsible and uncaring some people are. Tossing a member of their family out like yesterday's trash. Didn't even provide his medical records back with him, let alone any concern for him. Tundra has done NOTHING wrong in any of these situations to deserve this and that is what is so infuriating. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory.
