Male | GSD Mix | 2 yr | 52lbs | HW NEG | Euth request oor Gaston was brought to BARC on Feb 13 as an euthanasia request with another pup that is not in danger. They were found together on the streets of Houston. The citizen who brought them in took ownership from someone who claimed to not really want the dogs. %BD%BD%BD%BDGaston is very confused and defensive about his current situation. He is forward barking in the kennel but takes treats through the door very gently. He is going to need a very experienced foster who can help him feel safe & teach him to trust. With time and training, Gaston will be the good dog we all know he can be! %BD%BD%BD%9DBehavior Notes %BD%BD Kennel Reactive %BD%BD%BD%BDTreat motivated CITIZEN GOT FROM SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T WANT THE DOGS AND TOOK OWNERSHIP OF THEM BUT COULD NOT GET THE MALE OUT OF THE CAR FOR OVER 18 HOURS. MALE WAS REDIRECTING ON FEMALE BITING AT HER WHEN REACTING TO STAFF AND CITIZEN WHILE IN THE CRATE IN CAR. USED TRANQ TO AVOID STRESS TO BOTH DOGS IN CRATE DUE TO SHOWING TEETH, LUNGING AT CRATE AND CATCH POLE . Gaston was in boarding for 2 weeks and went to a foster to adopt home where he did excellent he even did very well with the fosters young child who is 7. Gaston is going for some training currently once he completes his training he will be ready for his forever home. while he was in foster care he showed no signs of aggression. Gaston just needs some basic training and taught how to properly walk on a leash. Also while in the foster home Gaston did really well with the fosters small dog.
