About Tommy

If you are looking for a very attentive, affectionate, 'Velcro' dog, Tommy is the boy for you. Tommy, who is approximately 2 years of age, is my 7th foster from our local shelter. I was drawn to him out of the 100 dogs currently at the shelter because of his extremely affectionate nature. He is also great on a leash and doesn't pull which makes him a pleasure to take on leisurely walks, fast walks, or runs. He is very friendly and quiet when meeting new people and will lie down and relax as if to say 'wake me up when you are done talking.' He is very engaged with his humans and would love to spend as much time with them as possible. Tommy had been at the shelter for many months and is definitely a volunteer favorite but we are all very surprised that he has not been adopted yet. Sadly, shelter life, with all of the chaotic barking, was extremely hard on this sensitive boy. Tommy lost a significant amount of weight after being admitted to the shelter's extremely stressful environment but has blossomed in his foster home and is now ready for his forever home. Even though Tommy is listed as a Staffordshire Terrier, his body type more closely resembles a Lab or Weimaraner. Tommy is a wonderful companion who loves to cuddle on the couch or go for leisurely walks. Due to his size and playful nature, he is not suitable in a home with children.
