Max has some puppy left in him still as he loves to play with toys and has bursts of energy, but when he's done, he wants all the pets. He is crate and house trained. He loves cucumbers and carrots and takes treats very nicely. Max has had a rough start to life and comes with some baggage. As such, he likes to guard his human and has a hard time reading signals from other dogs. He would be ok with a calm, submissive dog in the house, but he would do best as the only dog. Because he likes to protect his human, he would be best suited for a home with no small kids. He does well on a leash and really needs someone who understands rescues to continue to help him build trust in humans and give him all the love he missed out on when he was younger. When he came to us, he was dirty and his hair was matted so he had to be shaved down, but his hair is growing back nicely. If you are interested in meeting Max, please message us.
