About Martin

Adoption Fee: $ 175
Pointer / Foxhound
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Intake Date: 22 Jan 2022 ----- Age at intake: 1 yr ----- Breed: Pointer mix ----- Size: 50 lbs ----- Status: surrender at open surrender ----- Compatible with: Single or couple and medium to large dogs. No cats, no children ----- Suitable for: home with a securely fenced yard. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Needs stability ----- Additional Notes: Martin is a tough case for sure. He came to rescue because he was attacking the other dogs in the house and snapping at people. So after trying to break through to him, we sent him to a $1700 board and train and he thrived. He learned how to be a dog again. The trainer does believe he was mistreated and that is the source of a lot of his trust issues. He is so smart and picked up on his commands and manners quickly. He even learned to play and just be loving and confident. It WILL take time in a new home for him to bounce back to that BUT as long as his adopters stick with his training and routine, he will turn into an amazing buddy. He also does fine with all of the dogs here. Its amazing what stability does. He can be a cuddle bug with his people. The trainer is also offering 4 free follow up sessions with an adopter! This is AWESOME and we hope a single individual or couple takes a chance on this boy. He would also make a great jogging partner as he does not pull on the leash and has an amazing loose leash heel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is mandatory
