About Abigail

Meet Abigail! Abigail is currently located at Chi Town Rescue and was rescued along with 10 other dogs in August, 2021. She was on a medical hold because she was found to have a heart murmur and had to be put on heart medication before she could be spayed. She had her surgery in October, 2021 which turned out to be more complicated than a simple spay. But she recovered nicely and is now available for adoption. Abigail is the sweetest dog. She's so cute when she runs out to the play yard with her dog buddies with her little roly-poly body and short little legs. She's timid at first when she meets new people but once she gets to know you, she'll come to you for pets and kisses. She doesn't mind being picked up and carried around. She's pretty quiet most of the time but the rescue has found that she loves protecting the play yard from the neighborhood cats and will bark at them to go home. Abigail is estimated to be 5 years old (maybe older) and will require heart medication for the remainder of her life and the rescue will give you some till you can get some yourself. She is looking for a quiet home that will be able to provide the care she needs and the volunteers at the rescue will tell you that she is so worth it! Just look at her 'before' and 'after' pictures and see how she has really gained her confidence. She will make a great companion. Abigail has been at the rescue for a long time and is ready to go to her furever home.
