About Maverick

Location: Poolville, Texas AGE/DOB: 3 years, 01/2019 (estimate) Hello! My name is Maverick! I am an awesome, sensitive stud-muffin looking for my furever home full of treats, love, toys and a warm bed!! Some basic facts about little 'ol me...... I've met some kids and did great. Dog-savvy kids over 12 would be best for me. I used to be afraid of men, but my foster mom says I have made a turn and do well and warm up to men - even if they have a hat on! I am good with other dogs, and I play really well with larger dogs, but the smaller dogs get irritated with me because I play a little too rough with them due to my size. No cats for me. I'm a sensitive soul. When my foster mom is having a bad day with her back or vertigo, I walk right next to her and let her use me to lean on for balance. I didn't always have consistent food but have since learned that I can count on 2 square meals a day. It's best if I'm fed separately from my doggy siblings. Training you ask? I'm so good about my crate. I go in if my foster momma says she has to leave, go bye-bye, it's nap or bedtime, go to your crate when I'm not being my best self. I do not like a bath whatsoever, nope, no way. Lol! I am also house trained - I use the dog door - and if the dog door is blocked, I go to the door to let you know I need out. I still need to work on manners and some discipline issues. I've been for walks in a country setting but not out in social settings yet. Now on to the fun stuff!!!!!!!! I love to play fetch and tug of war! I love any Kong toys that will hold up to my playing. Nothing nylon. Lol! My favorite toy right now is a Kong stick. I can chew on it, make it play a noise, and play fetch and tug of war with it. I am learning how to 'release' and 'drop it' in my foster mom's hand and lap. I love hugs, please give me all the hugs in the world. I even give you a hug back. I love a good snuggle on your lap and forget I'm too big for it. I sleep in my kennel at night, but I also love to sleep with you in the bed! Do I sound like the perfect addition to your home and everything you've been missing?
