About Belle

Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

She is a medium haired dilute calico or torti. She is homeless and has been since August 2021 but lives under a shed where my husband works. She is being fed by him and one of his coworkers, but on weekends, we make the trip over there twice each day to give her food and fresh water. Because she has gotten used to us, she has let us rub her belly but not pick her up. We don't know her history, sadly, so don't know if she's always been an outdoor cat or not. Maybe someone moved away and left her? She's very much wanting attention and loving, but she's skiddish until she knows you. When she was trapped to get her spayed, as we took her home for the night, the noises she was making in that trap sounded just like 'I love you.' We were both heartbroken that we had to put her thru that, but we didn't want her giving birth to other cats when she didn't even have a home! Come to find out, the vet said she already HAD been spayed but they didn't know that until they'd cut her open. They gave her a rabies shot too, but it's too bad that the poor girl had to go thru that unnecessarily. Now cold weather was coming on and her belly was shaved. She's about 6 according to the vet. I wish we could keep her but we have 2 already and one of our cats would never hear of having another cat in the house. My husband wants Belle to be an indoor cat because he loves her and wants to know that she won't get eaten by some wild animal. Me? I just want her to live the life she wants to live. If she'd be content being an inside cat, that's great, but if she'd be whining to go out all the time, I'd want her to be able to do that. In my perfect scenario, she'd live in the country, and maybe there'd be a barn she could hang out in if she didn't want to go inside. I want her to be cared for and given fresh water and food every day and if she ever got sick, I'd want someone to treat her as if she were a member of the family and take her to the vet. If you think you could give her all this, please contact me. We will be careful about who we let adopt her because we both love her and she deserves a great home.
