About Ferris

Nothin' but a hound dog! Introducing Ferris, a 3-year old, 50-pound tricolor hound mix from Waban, MA. Being a hound, Ferris is usually nose to the ground. He loves taking in the many smells of the outdoors and would surely love spending time in the woods. He really enjoys walking, chasing things, and playing with sticks. You've heard of dog walkers? Well, this fella has a dog runner instead. Let's just say you're sure to stay in shape with Ferris! Ferris uses his internal clock and knows his daily routine well. He does best on a schedule that includes regular exercise and playtime. Ferris is very friendly to people and is used to having them visit his home. Sometimes the visitors bring along their own dogs for Ferris to play with. Otherwise, he is hot and cold about dogs he doesn't know. For example, on walks he either wants to say hi or he pulls and barks at them. Ferris however is not a dog park kind of dog. He ends up intimidating other furkids especially if a toy is involved. His own dog park is the solution! A yard with a privacy fence all around is ideal for Ferris. He can play and sniff unleashed to his heart's content. But close the gate! We all know that once hound dogs catch a whiff of something interesting, they forget themselves and make a run for it. Being a flight risk means his new pet parent will need to outsmart him! Background: Ferris was adopted one year ago and is very close to his 'mom and dad' but not so close to their 6-year old boy. Though we don't know the reason, he is skittish and gets triggered by the little boy. Ferris is being rehomed because he has snapped at and bit him, but fortunately no medical attention was needed.
