About Bota

We got Kubota (yes, like the tractors), or 'Bota' when he was just a puppy. He is now 5 years old, and sometimes acts like a puppy with puppy energy, and sometimes acts like an old man! He is a bit skittish and nervous at first, but once he is comfortable, he will jump up on your lap for some petting. He loves to be petted, especially behind his ears. He is kind of like a cat in personality, but still loves to do doggie things. He is fast, and loves to run. He likes treats, and is obedient. He is kennel trained, and he doesn't run away. He likes to be close to home. We trained him with an invisible fence, but he hasn't worn his collar in years. We're looking for a home, preferably with adults or with older kids (he sometimes nips when nervous, mostly just when first meeting overly enthusiastic new people). We have 3 kids and he's perfectly fine with them. Our youngest was 5 when we got Bota. He doesn't mind being home alone (again, like a cat). He has lived with another (larger) dog most of his life, but has never lived with a cat. He has a licking and scratching issue. May simply be an allergy, but we're not sure.
