About Loafus

Meet Loafus! This adorable goofball's goals in life are to make his favorite people smile, and keep them safe from harm. He just has a bit of an overactive imagination about what could be harmful, and needs someone who can continue working on training to show him that the world isn't as scary as it seems. This boy loves going on adventures, especially to the beach. He makes a great walking/running companion, and is a big fan of playing in water. He's also happy to have laid-back days to just snuggle up near his people and nap in a variety of interesting poses. He's slow to adjust to new people, but once you've built up a bond he's an absolute lovebug. Loafus is potty trained in his current home. While he may put up resistance to going in his crate if he knows you're leaving, he doesn't fuss once he's in there and will quickly settle himself in for a nap. He learns quickly and is food and play motivated. He currently lives in a home with another dog, but tends to want to resource guard his people, favorite napping spots, toys, and sometimes even water bowls, so he would likely be happier as the only dog in the home. He also lives with a cat, but he can be very obsessive with trying to play or cuddle, and doesn't understand his own size and strength. He may do okay with a slow introduction to a dog-confident cat. Potential adopters must be willing to have an in-depth phone conversation, provide references, and complete a virtual home-check. Multiple in-person meet & greets may be necessary, as he is slow to warm up to new people. ***Special Considerations: Bite risk - Experience adopter in adult-only home required. Reactive. Slow to warm-up. On medication for anxiety.
