About Kiki

Border Collie / Corgi
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Hi, I'm reaching out about surrendering our older border collie named Kiki. She has only been a recent addition to our family, and this is certainly not a decision that we take lightly, but it has been made apparent that she needs a home without small children, and ideally with some breed experience, as she has been herding and nipping at the kids in the home. She is incredibly sweet, and unfortunately lost her human not too long ago, which is how she ended up at our local shelter. Because of the incidents with the children, we really are trying to avoid surrendering her back to the shelter, as we know that having this black mark on her record will almost certainly end in her euthanasia. She is not a bad or a mean dog, she just needs the proper environment, which we are just not able to provide. A little bit more about Kiki: She is intact, as the vet that we recently brought her to believed that with her age and condition, following through with spay surgery would not be in her best interest. She is slightly overweight (although this could be her Corgi body type) and definitely needs to continue working on her exercise and diet routine. I know that we are not in your area, but giving that the herding behavior seems very common among these dogs, we wanted to reach out and see if you'd be willing to help her. We are more than happy to arrange transportation to bring to you, if you are willing to accept her into rescue.
