About RIVER

Hi, I'm RIVER ! I'm a big, lovable, 7 year old, ~95 pound boxer/mastiff mix who has lived in a home before, but ended up in a boarding kennel in Boise, Idaho. I love ALL people whether they give me butt-scratches, belly rubs, or not. Bonus if they have a large lap that I can sit on...I'm a leaner. Some might say that I am 'positionally-challenged' :-) I'm non-reactive to other big dogs on our walks and at adoption events, but I'm not yet sure about small dogs. In my previous home, I lived with 2 other cats and 2 boys (ages 10 and 11). Bigger kids are best as I don't understand my size (again...'positionally-challenged'). I already know the 'sit' and 'shake' commands and walk well on a loose leash. I'm non-reactive when I see geese or little kids playing. I'm house-trained and crate-trained, but I display some barrier frustration at my boarding kennel and when some strangers look into my crate. I walk well on leash and could even be a good support dog for someone with stability issues or difficulty getting up and down. I am calm and quiet in the car, especially when I know that I will be getting treats afterward. I know that I already like hamburger, rice, and ice cream cones (see videos). I'm fully vaccinated (good for a year), neutered and microchipped for my furever family.
