Chihuahua mix
Age: Young Adult

PLEASE READ INFORMATION AT THE END OF THE POST FOR ADOPTIONS Pretty Vivie is a 2 year old 9 pound Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to us. If you remember, we were working with a lady to get 43 dogs out of her house. Our mission is complete and Vivie is the last one to be posted! Vivie is shy at first, especially exploring her surroundings. The dogs were not taken outside so like most of them she's had to adjust and realize that it's not a big scary world out there! She is affectionate and loves to cuddle and is a very good lap dog! She will fall asleep in your arms when you hold her. She likes to paw at your leg for you to pick her up to join you on the couch when you are sitting down, but she gets nervous being held when you are standing up and may try to jump from your arms. Vivie is very loving and loyal once she is used to you, and generally will follow you everywhere although she will sometimes run from you if you go to pick her up. She sleeps in the bed with her foster family every night. Vivie is great with other dogs but can be lap protective. Easy fix, you just put her down and eventually she learns that behavior doesn't get her anywhere. She plays with the other dogs in her foster home all day from morning til night. We do think that she will be best in a home with other dogs since that is what she is used to. She has not been around cats since she has been with us. She would not be good in a home with younger kids because they will scare her, she is good with teenagers. When she first meets new people she is scared and will bark at them. Vivie loves to play with toys and be wrapped in blankets, she stays cold all the time but her foster mom says she has a hard time keeping her sweater on because she pulls it off. She enjoys running in the yard and sitting in the sun. She is good in the car and will lie on your lap or in a car seat and sleep. Something she is not good at is walking on a leash! She absolutely must have a secure fenced in yard. She is doing well with housetraining and will run in and out the back door with the other dogs to go potty. Like a lot of small dogs she has some accidents in the house if it's cold and rainy outside. Vivie seems to have some separation anxiety but doing better now that she is used to the other dogs with her, but she would be best in a quiet home with someone who would be able to be home with her more often than not. Vivie has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is already to continue on her journey to being a loved pet!
