About Xena

Xena is such a wonderful dog! She is also a fun size, at just 25 pounds! She may start off shy but just let Xena come to you and she will want to cuddle you until the end of time. Her #1 pastime is definitely cuddling. She loves kids and adults alike. She loves to play outside, chasing her toys and running around. She usually spends a couple of hours in the yard on her own during the day, sniffing around and eating dirt. She loves to go on adventures to parks, breweries, or hikes. She is more comfortable with humans than dogs. She gets overwhelmed at dog parks and hides behind the closest human. There is some fear around strange dogs, she may bark or pull on leash when another dog is around but never aggressive, more of overexcitement. She loves to train for treats. She is eager to please. She gets super excited when people come over too. We have trained her to stay calm and sit when we get home and we are working on her staying calm when other people come over. She gets so excited and insists they pet her the entire time. Keeping treats (especially liver treats) in hand and some training would make her the perfect dog. When we leave her at home, she just looks out the window or sleeps on the couch. She would be the perfect dog for a family with some kids that want to cuddle and play with a gentle, sweet best friend. She was at a neighbor home by herself, outside for many years. We took her in and spent our own money to get her healthy (she had 2 ear infections, 2 infected tooth abscesses, and a limp. She is now completely healthy!! She has been through a lot and she is ready to live her best life with her humans! Adoption fee is sliding scale.
