About Lassie

Lassie: beautiful 18 mo old, 48# blue heeler/blue tick mix. Lassie was surrendered to shelter by owner, who had had her since a pup, due to a change in the landlord's pet policy. Lassie is a well behaved teenage dog in the working class of dogs but needs more socialization. She is friendly and gentle with other dogs, cats, children; but is shy around new adults and environments. Easily frightened by new noises, she settled comfortably into foster home after about 36 hours. Crate trained, housebroken, is not food aggressive, does not beg or counter surf, has not chewed anything except dog toys. Settles down quickly in crate. No barking in house, although barks at any new sound outside. This behavior is decreasing as time goes on. She loves to run and play, romps appropriately with our heeler, but leaves my elderly terrier alone, is afraid of our bossy cat. Knows basic commands, and is very receptive to teaching in the week she has been in foster. Allows pets and snuggles calmly.
