About Tilly

Meet one of the newest faces at Pal's Place rescue, Tilly, the coonhound! Tilly is a female Black and Tan Coonhound mix rescued from a high-intake, overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. This sweetie pie is 3-5 years old and currently weighs 55 pounds. She is a bit thin and needs to gain about 5-10 pounds to be an ideal weight. Tilly is a social and energetic girl that will be an excellent match for an active family. She loves people, loves to cuddle, and loves to hug! Like most hounds, she's very affectionate, curious, and a tad mischievous at times. She doesn't seem to know any basic commands but she is very intelligent and extremely food motivated so teaching her the basics should be a breeze. True to her hound nature, she can be vocal at times. Because of this, we feel Tilly is not suited to live in an apartment or condo. Tilly does well with other dogs and is being fostered with several others. She can be a bit of an alpha female at times though and comes on a bit strong when meeting new dogs, so she would not be an ideal addition to a home with an existing female and is most compatible with males or as the only dog in the home where she can be the queen. We do not know how she interacts with cats. She is crate trained housebroken. Tilly is anxious to meet her forever family, could it be yours? Tilly is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines. She is taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $375. She is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after submitting an application.
