About Catching Rays

Foxhound mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Catching Rays!! This pup and his family were dumped in an outdoor shelter by their owner. Starved and scared with the temps dropping into the 20's. Thankfully they are recovering well and on their way back to full health. They still have a bit of weight to gain back but overall they are doing so much better. He is an approx 13 weeks old male. Appears to be a hound mix. Weighs approx 12 Pounds. Their mom is 35 pounds but at full weight should be around 40-45 and we are unsure what the father was. They will likely be medium to large in size full grown. He is currently active, happy, and playful. He is fostered with dogs of all sizes and doing great. He has also been fostered around kids. He has never met any cats but is young enough to learn. He came to us super shy but is getting more social every day. It's likely he never knew love prior. He is starting to really enjoy the love of people, toys and bones. Running around the yard is a favorite for him. He likes to be held, explore and play. He is active and will need lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and out of trouble. Remember you have the initial puppy stage where they need to be taught everything and then the adolescent stage kicks in where they become very active and need more exercise. To end up with a wonderful and well trained dog you have to be ready and willing to put in the hard work over the first year or two. Puppies will get several sets of vaccines, a microchip and spay/neuter as part of their adoption. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your families lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them. Please carefully consider the time and effort a puppy requires before adopting. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) '%BC%8FIF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING READ BELOW '%BC%8F Please message [email protected] directly with questions or to get an application.
