Perfectly good one year old dog that just isn't fitting in with our situation. We feel he would do best as an only dog, although an alpha dog that could help him socialize in his proper place dog-style, would probably work out with an experienced dog owner managing the situation. He has been shown the ropes by our alpha cats and although shows interest, doesn't chase them and probably wouldn't hurt them if he caught them anyway. This dog has completed basic obedience class and knows basic commands, heels, retrieves, etc with proper oversight. Our biggest problem with him is that he won't leave our other dog alone and additionally does not respond reliably to commands when our other dog is present. He is very sweet and wants to please but his brain turns off when he sees another dog. We have been working with him for just shy of a year and it's come to the point of just not having the time to deal with him so he gets put in a crate. That's not fair to him so we have decided to find a better situation for him. It's not an immediate emergency to remove him from this current situation but, this just can't be his forever situation so the sooner he finds something better, the better for everyone. We have a couple thousand invested in him, not counting food, but this isn't about getting our money back -- it's about finding the best home for this dog. That is why the adoption fee is listed as negotiable. We don't want money to be the reason he doesn't get into the right home.
