About Amarok

Amarok (Ama-rook), or Rook, is a 1.5 year-old Husky-Akita mix. I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. Unfortunately my older dog is having medical issues and I don't have the time to spend with him that he needs and deserves. Amarok is a very sweet and smiley boy who is very playful and loves fetch. He is very active and needs plenty of exercise. He will do best with someone who has a lot of training experience, as he is very strong willed, and needs a lot of direction, even though he has been well trained. He knows sit, stay, here, down, bed. He also plays really good with small dogs as he was raised with one. He would do best with a single male (or younger couple) that has a very dominant personality as Rook needs a very clear Alpha for him to follow. He is very sweet and loves most people but he can be fearful of some people and sometimes small children. He does REALLY well with baths and will let you do most any grooming if you give him a peanut butter pad to lick.
