Dusty is our family Dog. Sadly we have to re-home him and his daughter. Dusty is 3 years old (birthdate 12-12-18) We got him when he was 1 years old and worked through some previous owner abuse (more details if wanted). He has turned out to be an amazing dog. He is incredibly smart. He is house trained, kennel trained and knows basic commands. Walks were regular but off leash as we live in the country. He is used to having a large area for running (a couple acres). He is completely content being inside or outside (obviously enjoys cooling off inside in the summer). When inside he will find a spot to lay and will stay there. We were training him as a guard dog and he was learning the perimeters and protocols. mainly using clickers. We have adults and small kids. He is docile with kids and has never given them any mal response even while eating. He does like to greet kids nad people at face height (even though he doesn't jump) he tends to quickly lick faces). He loves to chase and 'hunt'. This is where our problem comes in. He can jump our fence and against all of the training and things I could do he got out and harmed my neighbors sheep. His new home should not have access to livestock. He has never bothered our cows or chickens and shows no aggression to people. More motivated by trust relationship than food. Were hoping he can be rehomed with his daughter (a 1 year old german shephard pit bull mix). His new home should be loving and familiar with the breed.
